Fruit & Vegetable Smoothie Ideas

fruit & veggiesmoothie ideas

I love a good smoothie. And I love that I can sneak in some vegetables!

Here are 5 fruit and veggie smoothie ideas for you to try:

1. Banana + Carrot + Cabbage

  • 1/2 banana
  • 6-8 grapes
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1/4 red pepper
  • 1 large cabbage leaf
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2-3 ice cubes

2. Banana + Asparagus + Cabbage

  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 large cabbage leaf
  • 2-3 asparagus spears
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2-3 ice cubes

3. Sweet Potato + Berries

  • 1/2 peeled and steamed sweet potato
  • 5-6 raspberries
  • 2-3 strawberries
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2-3 ice cubes

4. Beets + Strawberry

  • 1/2 peeled and steamed beet
  • 4-5 strawberries
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2-3 ice cubes

5. Classic Green Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 banana
  • 1 pitted Medjool date for sweetness (or 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce)
  • 2-3 ice cubes

There are literally thousands of smoothie combinations out there. I try to keep color families together. Pinks, oranges and reds. Greens and yellows.

Banana, grapes, and cabbage are nice neutrals.

Bananas and avocados are super creamy.

Cabbage is nearly flavorless (!), so it’s easy to hide.

Swap the spinach for kale, chard, arugula, or another green leafy vegetable.

Smoothies are a great way to incorporate some vitamins into your baby’s diet. We use reusable pouches (like those from ReSqueeze) as well as make ice pops from the smoothie mixture. For the ice pops, I like the mold from Munchkin.

What’s your favorite smoothie combination?
